In a compassionate stride towards social welfare, the government has introduced the ASD Financial Assistance Scheme, aiming to provide essential support to destitute senior citizens and persons with disabilities. This initiative stands as a beacon of hope, addressing the financial needs of individuals aged 60 and above, ensuring their well-being and fostering inclusivity.

Eligibility Criteria

The ASD scheme carries a no-limit age range, embracing both male and female applicants. Occupation is not a criterion, making it accessible to individuals from diverse backgrounds. The income threshold for city residents is set below ₹150,000, and for village residents, it is below ₹120,000. Marital status is not a prerequisite for application.

Persons with disabilities (PWD) are encouraged to apply, provided they possess a certificate indicating that there is no son or grandson over 21 years of age, along with a Disability Certificate showing a disability percentage of 75% or above, issued by the Civil Hospital.

Monthly Benefits

The scheme offers a monthly allowance of ₹1,000 for individuals aged between 60 and 80 years. For those above 80 years, the monthly benefit is increased to ₹1,200, recognizing the increased financial needs in the later stages of life.

BPL Score and Documentation

Unlike some schemes, ASD does not require a Below Poverty Line (BPL) score for eligibility. However, applicants must submit essential documents, including an age certificate, Aadhar number, bank account details, income certificate, disability-related certificates, mobile number, election card, and a copy of the power bill.
